Laughter Yoga

Free of charge Laughter yoga session – offers amazing health benefits

A free of charge YOGALAFF workshop will be held every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. @ Soimex, 1430 Broadway, #1107, NY 10018. This demonstrates the concept of “laughteryoga” – a series of yogic exercises designed to induce laughter without any reason, and is conducted by VISHWA PRAKASH.

Laughteryoga was developed in India by Dr. Kataria and is today practiced in over 5,100 laughter clubs all over the world. Gently thru’ breathing and yogic exercises, we reach your heart with playful laughter exercises and soon reach a crescendo of excited belly laughter. No tricks, no tickling, no alcohol and no jokes. The laughter comes straight from the heart as pure joy. As one leading personality puts it “we go to the gym for physical exercise, but a laughteryoga session is the gym of the soul!”

YOGALAFF is part of an international laughter movement and is led and sponsored by Vishwa Prakash who has been extensively covered by popular TV networks and the written media. The beauty of this is that it is non-political, non-religious, non-racial and non-threatening.
Laughter has been scientifically proven to offer relief from stress, reduce pain, aid digestion, improve sleep, lower blood pressure, improve circulation, boost the immune system, increase lung capacity and is otherwise a joyful anti-aging activity that connects people and, by developing personality, fosters happiness.

Have heaps of fun as you laugh away of your stresses, strains and anxieties. Rediscover the lost meaning of life, love and happiness. For further information visit www.yogalaff.com , telephone 212 594 7982 or email vishwa@yogalaff.com

I'm Wearing Red. Are you?

Today is national Wear Red Day. Women around the United States are wearing red today to promote awareness of heart health.

The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute are the main promoters of this day. Their mission is stated as:

The Heart Truth—a national awareness campaign for women about heart disease—created and introduced the Red Dress as the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness in 2002 to deliver an urgent wakeup call to American women. National Wear Red Day promotes the symbol and provides an opportunity for everyone to unite in this life-saving awareness movement by showing off a favorite red dress, shirt, or tie, or Red Dress Pin.
Join the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute; Office on Women's Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; WomenHeart: the National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease; American Heart Association; and many other groups to promote National Wear Red Day in your local community.

To learn how women can reduce their risk of heart disease read this PDF brochure written by the NIH. For women who already have heart disease there is a special brochure for you.
